Christina Aguilera Quotes

Christina: I feel empowered when I express myself sexually. Any woman who's going to strongly express herself sexually, there's always a backlash... Throughout the years, men have tried to put a restraint on how women are allowed to behave. If you do this, you're not sexy enough. And if you don't do that, you're too sexy... There are so many double standards. It's very important to me as a female to play upon sexuality and be very strong while incorporating that in my art and work.

Christina: (on her song "Still Dirrty") Still Dirrty is my tongue in cheek way of addressing the things I've seen in the tabloids about my new image - 'Oh, she's changed her look because she's in love!'... It's me looking at these things and kind of laughing.

Christina: (on marriage) You're surprised and disappointed by certain things in your first year [of marriage]. I think the biggest misconception is that everything is going to be perfect and nothing will go wrong.

Christina: I was always lean growing up. Once I hit my early 20s, I started to fill out. I really got excited. It's fun for me to take on that womanly shape. I definitely wasn't upset about gaining those curves! Now I love being able to fill out the corsets and accentuate that look.

Christina: My husband supports every pelvic thrust. He’ll even ask me why I’m covering up and tell me to show it all off!

Christina: (revealing she wants to give acting a try) I've been reading scripts for a number of years now. I really am interested in acting as its own art form. While I'm on tour for Back To Basics I will be reading scripts……I'm waiting for the right thing to come along. It's important it's the right role.

Christina: I'm a flirt, I flirt with the camera, with my audience, yes, that really is a part of who I am.

Referring to Jordan Bratman
Christina: Jordan is a balanced, strong and solid man. He is my pride, my backbone. He is my best friend. All my lyrics are inspired by Jordie. I didn't want to write sugar sweet love songs, but it's important to me that people know what a positive influence they got on me.

Christina: Sometimes, this work is just as bizarre as a circus act.

Christina (referring to accusations of sex appeal to sell records): Whatever I do, it's my business. It's not my job to parent America.

Christina: It's definitely a dream come true to be recognized and to be able to sign autographs. But, it's also a lot of hard work and can be draining. If you don't know already, you will quickly learn who your real friends are.

Christina: I'm not just another bimbo. I've got a brain and a heart. And I'm not going to let my body distract people from that fact.

Christina: I want a bad boy in public, and a pussy cat at home!

Christina: I’m not conservative when it comes to that sex stuff. I have a problem with the whole society thing where guys have sex and get praised for it but girls do it and get labels put on them. So more power to the girl who says she can enjoy sex and not be ashamed of it. I’ll back that up 100 percent.

Christina: I want my music to speak for me, rather than the dress or lack of dresses I wore.

Christina: I have been portrayed as bad but that was never really me. I think I am a good girl and always have been. I see my persona as one of a strong, aggressive female who had every right to be outspoken in her sexuality.

Christina: I curse the day that I get a best-dressed award. Then I'll just be ordinary.

Christina: Eventually, I do want to have a family. But I have a definite game plan for my life.

Christina: It's much easier for my husband when I wear kiss-proof lipstick.

Christina: Every name I've been called has made me stronger.

Christina (comparing her husband to Britney Spears’ husband): He’s not trying to be on the cover of magazines. He’s not trying to make a record. He’s just good old Jordy.

Christina: There is no truth to the rumors that we hate each other. I have no ill feelings for Britney & vice versa. I am proud of all the achievements she has made in her career, she is a very hard working person. I have nothing but love for her.

Christina: It's funny how society places such strict standards upon young blonde females. We're supposed to play the clean-cut view the public wants of us. But I am not your little cookie-cutter virgin.

Christina: I think that whatever size or shape body you have, it's important to embrace it, and get down! The female body is something that is so beautiful. I wish women would be proud of their bodies & not diss other women for being proud of theirs.

Christina: Be a strong female-don't be afraid of the flack that goes along with that.

Christina: I'm inspired by the 20's, 30's, and 40's- they're all feel-good periods.

Christina: I wouldn't feel right wearing clothes that covered my whole body.

Chritsina: Pop is actually my least favorite kind of music, because it lacks real depth.

Christina: You can take it or leave it, but I'm not going to change, not for anyone.

Christina: I like to be edgy, I like to be different. I'm a little bit of rebel.

Christina: The sexuality coming forward on this record is more softened. It’s more pin-up, tongue-in-cheek. It’s playful. People take sex far too seriously.
